Furloughed days include public holidays and weekends as per HMRC guidance.
We're including the qualified earnings minimum of £512 before 6 April 2020, and £520 after 6 April, when calculating the pension claim.
We're including the monthly threshold for NIER, using £719 before 6 April 2020 and £732 after 6 April 2020.
In case the furlough period overlaps several months, we calculate earnings minimums for NI and pension claims separately for each tax month.
All of the above is subject to change if/when HMRC announces further guidance.
We're updating the calculator in real-time as new HMRC guidelines come out.
In case you can't find an answer below please refer to HMRC.
This calculator is built primarily for employers to calculate how much they can claim back from HMRC.
What you will be paid as an employee depends on your employer. If your employer won't top up anything on top of what they receive from HMRC then your gross wage will be the same as "base wage claim" above.
For more information about this please contact your employer.
Employers can claim 80% of an employee's salary (though capped at £2,500) plus NI and basic pension costs per employee per month.
The minimum time that an employee can be furloughed is three weeks (21 days).
